There are 22 miles of beach along Southport's coastline although you don't have to walk it all to find pavement cafes, tree-lined promenades and shopping in the glass-canopied shops of Lord Street.

With plenty to do in the day including the Model Village, Southport Zoo, Aquarium, Railway Centres and the Southport Belle Paddle Steamer, don't forget to save some energy for the evening when the town comes alive with bars, clubs and a casino.

Southport also has a traditional seaside pier.

This internationally famous Museum offers visitors a unique experience to view the development of lawn mowers through the years and enjoy the information provided by one of the Worlds leading authorities on vintage lawnmowers and all things connected.

Splash World is a water theme park housed just minutes from the sandy beaches and come rain or shine is a fun packed family day out for all ages. The pools are home to a range of slides from the lazy river to the super fast speed freak flume there is something for all the family to enjoy including a relax in the bubble spa.

Set in 1.5 acres, this miniature landscape is based on typical Lancashire architecture with country, village and town scenes. Kids of all ages and model railway enthusiasts alike can wander amongst the gardens or just sit and relax watching the garden railway chug on enjoying a picnic in one of the many picnic spots.

The "amusement park on the sands", Pleasureland has over 100 rides to suit even the youngest children as well as offering those white knuckle rides for the most dedicated roller coaster fans.
