Buckfast Abbey

Buckfast Abbey is the home of a community of Roman Catholic Benedictine monks. Monastic life was first recorded at Buckfast in 1018 and the beautiful Abbey Church that stands at Buckfast today is the result of the monks' hard labour. The Community at Buckfast welcomes almost half a million visitors each year.
